1. Kimberley Big Hole - South Africa
This 1097 meter deep mine yielded over 3 tons of diamonds before being closed in 1914. The amount of earth removed by workers is estimated at 22.5 million tonnes total.
2. Glory Hole - Monticello Dam
This is the glory hole belonging to Monticello Dam in California and it's the largest in the world, its size enabling it to consume 14,400 cubic feet of water every second!
3. Bingham Canyon Mine, Utah
the hole is 3/4 mile deep and 2.5 miles wide.
4. Great Blue Hole, Belize
Located 60 miles from the mainland of Belize is this incredible geographical phenomenon known as Blue Hole. On the surface, perfectly circular hole, about 1 / 4 mile wide, the average depth in the 145 meters. Obviously, the hole is a huge hit with divers.
5. Mirny Diamond Mine, Serbia
It's a largest open diamond mine in the world. At 525 metres deep with a top diameter of 1,200 metres, there's even a no-fly zone above the hole due to few helicopters being sucked in.
6. Diavik Mine, Canada
This incredible mine can be found 300 km, northeast of Yellow Knife in Canada.
7. Sinkhole, Guatemala
These photos are of a sinkhole which occured in Guatemala. The hole swallowed a dozen homes and killed at least 3 people.
